What is Zapier, and how does it work?

Non-technical individuals may use Zapier to link various online apps.

An app-to-app integration is known as a Zap. Zaps are formed by the Trigger and one or more Actions and Searches, which can be combined into a single action.

As soon as a trigger is triggered in one app, Zapier will proceed to carry out all of the actions or searches that are associated with it in the other app.

Triggers with Zapier

For example, what events can my users listen for with Zapier? They include the following:

Unknown Party (EG: Highrise or Salesforce)
A brand-new Email Has Arrived (EG: Gmail or IMAP)
New Concern (EG: GitHub or Pivotal Tracker)
A Trigger can be viewed as a GET or a read. Zapier will need to receive data from your app in order to perform this action.

Actions in Zapier
Actions provide the answer to the issue of what my Zapier users should be able to generate. They include the following:

Set up a To-Do List (EG: Basecamp)
Publish a Problem (EG: GitHub or Pivotal Tracker)
Create a Message in Chat (EG: Campfire or Hipchat)
POSTs, writes, or the creation of a new resource are all Actions. Zapier must transmit data to your app in order for this to work.

We’re excited to see what you come up with.
